Question: What makes the best Mothers’ Day gift?

Answer: Photo based Mothers’ Day gifts are an ideal way to gift a memory that your Mom can treasure forever.

Mothers Day is Coming up Fast

It might be March, but we’re officially two months out from Mothers’ Day, and you know what that means! It’s time to pick a present for the person in your life who already has literally everything, because they just… get it for themselves. Or, if YOU’RE the Mom in question here, it might be a different story entirely. It might mean waiting to receive something last minute, and poorly planned, that you’ll try to like anyway, because at least your partner tried.

Maybe that’s a little negative, and I don’t get negative here very often, but hey – we’ve all been there, right? So this year, I’m here to remind you that you can get ahead of the curve, and suggest a gift you ACTUALLY want. Or, like I said, get one for the Mom in YOUR life, that ISN’T you!

Photo Gifts are Perfect for Mothers’ Day

If you’re here and you know what I do, odds are you know where I’m going with this – photo gifts. There are so many kinds, with outcomes that meet every need, and you can get SO creative with how you gift things like prints from sessions. The options are nearly endless. To the point that even if you gave your mom a photo gift last year… you can give one again THIS year! They’re THAT repeatable. No more worrying about finding a book she’ll love, or trying to find a good deal on a spa day she won’t even use. Instead, with any of these options, you gift her a memory she’ll literally be able to look back on for years to come!

Gifting a Mini Session

Giving a Mini Photo Session as a Mothers’ Day gift is a PERFECT option for the Mom who has it all! And you can get really creative with how you use it, too. Not only are there lots of different mini sessions available all over Minneapolis for you to choose from (whether they’re specifically designed for Mothers’ Day or not), you also get to pick who attends the session!

And that’s the “big deal” that makes Mini Photo Sessions such a repeatable Mothers’ Day gift. This year, the session can be with your Mom and her grandkids. Next year, it can be for her and her partner. The year after that? What about the grandkids again? And one more year down the line… it could be for you two, specifically. You could also take the approach of having a mini session in a different gorgeous location each year, instead! But either way, Mini Photo Sessions make amazing Mothers’ Day gifts, that you can come back to year after year – even making a tradition of it!

Gifting Prints for Mothers’ Day

You don’t have to stop at the photo session, you can also gift photo prints for Mothers’ Day! And just like the idea of gifting a session, gifting prints is repeatable, and meaningful. While gifting a photo session in consecutive years might feel like cheating, gifting prints can feel a lot more like a new and unique gift each time, since there are just so many endless options for what kind of print to order from a session. If your Mom doesn’t have space left on her walls, consider a home product that she WILL have space for. Or, if she’s looking at redecorating her livingroom, consider a few prints from a family session you’ve had in the last year, that would bring her favorite people into her space all the time.

There’s really very few ways to go wrong with it, because let’s face it – what parent (or grandparent!) doesn’t want to be reminded of their family when they look around their home?

Gifting an extended family session

You don’t have to keep to a Mini Photo Session for your Mothers’ Day gift – you can go for the exact opposite, and get the whole family involved! Extended family sessions are an incredible way to make memories together, and let’s face it, they’re also a great excuse to get the family together in the first place. With our busy lives, it’s hard to carve out time to spend with family, but photo sessions are practical, and since everyone gets something out of it (the photos!) it comes with a built-in bribe (if your family is the kind that responds well to bribery, haha!)

But for your Mom, it’s not only a memory she’ll have forever, it’s also proof that her people are willing to coordinate all together to bring her joy. And what’s better to give for Mothers’ Day than that?

She gets to focus on HER

When you gift a photo session for Mothers’ Day, whether you’re booking it to celebrate Mothers’ Day for YOU, or for a Mom in your life – whoever is involved, gets to focus on THEM for the day. Whether that’s you, or your Mom. It’s about building memories, feeling loved, sparking joy – and at the end of the day, isn’t that what Mothers’ Day is all about? Joy? Caring?

It doesn’t matter whether it’s a Mini Photo Session, a Family Session, or an Extended Family Session, the memories you’ll come away with after working with Jessica Strobel Photography here in Minneapolis will be worth their weight in gold, for many, many years to come.
