Mothers’ Day is Coming Up!
Okay so I know it’s Fabruary, and Mothers’ Day isn’t until May, so it might feel a little early to think about the presents you’re giving for Mothers’ Day this year. I mean, it probably feels like you’ve just gotten through Valentines’ Day, and the winter gifting season! So why is it time to think about gifts for Mothers’ Day?

Gifting Things to Mom isn’t Always Easy
Because lets be honest here, figuring out what you’re gifting to your Mom is NOT always an easy task! They have everything, right? And the things they don’t have… they don’t want. Which doesn’t make things easy, and definitely means you have to get a little creative, am I right? (I know I am, that was rhetorical.)
The other factor here, is if you’re planning your OWN Mothers’ Day gifts, which like, kudos to you, Mama. You’re MORE than allowed to do that! I’ve always thought about Mothers’ Day not as just a day to celebrate the other moms in our lives, and our own mothers, but to also celebrate ourSELVES as Moms. Like, we’re badass, every day. We work HARD. You deserve to celebrate that, and if that means getting yourself a present, or booking an experience for yourself, that’s what it means! And there’s nothing at ALL wrong with that!

When it comes to gifting photos… you’ve got Options!
So… what do you get the Mom in your life who has everything already? Even if that mom is actually you? I mean you’re here, and you probably read the title of the post, so I think you should already know, the best gift that ticks all those boxes is photo gifts! And when it comes to photo gifts, you’ve got TONS of options!
Spring Mini Sessions
One of the options for Mothers’ Day gifts this year, is spring mini sessions! Now, these sessions don’t take place until after Mothers’ Day, but… that doesn’t mean they can’t make a lovely Mothers’ Day gift! Mini sessions with Jessica Strobel Photography are quick, stress-free, and accessible for your neurodivergent kiddos, if that’s needed for you and your people.
They’re designed to get you gorgeous images with the lowest stress possible, and not only that, but you get your images super fast, too! So there’s no waiting around wondering whether your kiddo(s) smiled during the session, because you get to see them super fast. And also… all kids smile during my mini sessions, they don’t have time to get stressed about the camera! The only hiccup with spring mini sessions as a Mothers’ Day gift, is they book out FAST. At the time of writing, there are about 8 sessions left for the 2025 spring season schedule, so if a mini sounds like the way forward for your Mothers’ Day gifting strategies, then… go take a look at the list of Spring minis, and grab yours!

Book a Full Session
Second on our list of photography-based Mothers’ Day gifts, is booking a full session! Minis are great, and are definitely an affordable and quick option, if the Mom in your life is (or you are!) looking for something simple and speedy this year. But if you’re looking for something that is a more drawn out experience, that you’ll come away from with a whole set of images, instead of just a handful, then the answer is a full session, not a mini!
I mean, I love mini sessions, and they serve their purpose, but sometimes, they don’t fit the bill! Booking a full session as a Mothers’ Day gift means you’re not only gifting photos, you’re gifting a memory. And not a speedy one like a mini session – you’re gifting a photographer’s direct focus, for the length of a full session, and depending on the type of session, possibly some pampering, too! Because gifting a session to the Mom in your life doesn’t necessarily mean gifting a Family session – you have options! You can gift a boudoir session, for example, to give an experience that is super focused on self-care, and self-love, and celebrating women. And those sessions can come with things like hair styling and professional makeup, if you want them to, which just adds to the overall experience and makes it even more memorable!
Prints from a Session
You don’t have to gift a whole session to give a photo-centered Mothers’ Day gift this year! If you’ve had a session recently, or have favorite images of the people the Mom in question loves, you can absolutely order prints of those images for her! I talk about why prints make amazing gifts all the time, because firstly: they do. But also, because they’re so often overlooked, since let’s face it, giving photos as a gift can feel too simple. In reality, it’s NOT. Gifting prints of the people in her life (or your life, if you’re gifting for yourself!) is powerful, and does all kinds of amazing things like allowing more happiness into her (your!) space.
Plus, if you’ve had a session with Jessica Strobel Photography, you can easily order those prints through your gallery! It doesn’t take a million steps, and you can literally do it from your phone. I mean, in my opinion it’s more of a “big screen” activity instead of a “handheld screen” activity (AKA it’s more of a laptop task than a phone task) but it’s so simple you can definitely do it from your phone if you want to!

Get Creative With it!
But if sessions or prints from a session don’t feel like they’re the play for Mothers’ Day gifts this year, that’s also okay! You can get super creative with photo centered gifts! There are all kinds of products, from mugs, to Christmas ornaments, to decorated frames and keychains that you can order with your images printed on them, both from large companies, and from home creators on marketplaces like Etsy. There are TONS of options!
And if images of your people just don’t fit the bill either, then you can even consider gifting fine art prints to the Mom in your life, to help bring joy to her space this year. When I say there are tons of options, I really, really mean it!

Want to Gift a Session?
Hopefully, this list has given you some options to think about for your Mothers’ Day gifts this year. But if you’re looking to gift a session, and you don’t want to book in a mini (which you can secure yourself, super easily!) then reach out! I would love to make your Mothers’ Day dreams come true, whether you’re booking for a friend, for yourself, for your partner, or for your Mom.
Celebrate Mothers’ Day this year with memories. I promise you won’t regret it!
