Why I Love Pic-Time for My Photography Business

As a constantly busy business owner, I’m always looking for ways to give my clients a beautiful, seamless experience. But it’s also important to me that I do that, while keeping my own workflow simple and stress-free. It’s not a one-or-the-other situation for me, the systems I use have to keep it simple and aesthetically pleasing, easy to use – and they can’t add a bunch of steps to my day-to-day, because I just… don’t have time for that. And I know you don’t either!

Over the years, I’ve tried every online gallery platform you can imagine (and yes, sometimes more than one at a time, if it makes my life easier). But Pic-Time has become my go-to for so many reasons. I went away from pictime only to come back – because their online store options are best-in-class, and they’ve been GAME CHANGING for my business! Today, we’re gonna walk through why they can be exactly as game-changing for YOU, too!

1. Effortless Customization for Each Client

Every client’s session is unique, and I want the store attached to their online gallery to reflect that. With Pic-Time, I can fully customize the store experience for each session type – holiday minis, fall minis, family sessions, newborn portraits – you name it.

This means my clients aren’t bombarded with a million product options that could overwhelm them, and that aren’t even relevant to the type of session they had in the first place. I mean, it might not be super relevant to have things like Christmas ornaments in the gallery store for a Valentines mini, right? You get it, too many options can be super overwhelming!

And if they are anything like me – if they get overwhelmed, they probably shut down. Then instead of buying that beautiful album they definitely wanted, but couldn’t actually see in their gallery store options, they shut the tab and go back to watching that shitty reality tv drama. With Pic-Time, I avoid this problem COMPLETELY. Instead of showing clients everything they can possibly buy in the Pic-Time store, I can create session-specific price lists and show only the products that make sense for that type of session. It’s a subtle shift that makes the buying process feel curated and personal – exactly how I want my clients to feel when they get their gallery after their session.

2. Upselling Without In-Person Sales

I’ll be honest – in-person sales aren’t my thing, and they’re probably never gonna be. Every time I’ve been on the other side In Person Sales I always feel pressure to buy, and like… that’s awkward, right? I never want my clients to feel that kind of pressure, I want them to truly enjoy choosing the products they’ll end up with after their session. I love connecting with my clients, but I’d rather spend that connection time shooting or editing than sitting in a meeting trying to upsell.

Pic-Time understands this perspective completely, and handles the upselling for me, beautifully and automatically. Their campaigns run behind the scenes – reminding clients about their gallery, offering limited-time discounts, and encouraging them to order heirloom products before the opportunity passes. It’s like having a built-in sales team that never sleeps. No back-and-forth emails for ordering, no hassle at my end, no accidentally-missed-DMs-on-whatever-platform.

If my clients need extra hand holding I can still help, obviously – but Pic-Time does the heavy-lifting. I do installs for clients that want that. I make home visits if they ask. But for the majority of clients… Pic-Time is exactly what’s needed to create an easy, enjoyable experience.

3. Partnering with My Favorite Professional Labs

Quality matters to me. My clients trust me to deliver artwork they’ll treasure forever, so I need products from labs I love and trust. Pic-Time partners with my favorite professional labs, so I never have to worry about the quality of the prints, albums, or wall art my clients order! Which is HUGE, because we’re in a weird place right now with the quality of manufacturing for prints and products. The fact that Pic-Time connects with companies I trust means quality assurance is one less thing on my plate. Other platforms didn’t use the labs I loved so I’d have to self-fulfill if I wanted to be one-hundred-percent certain my clients would get products I was proud of… and that’s the OPPOSITE of simple.

4. Stress-Free Business Tools

Pic-Time goes beyond just being a gallery platform – they think like photographers. Right there in my settings and tools I can:

  • Set seasonal pricing lists for holiday and fall minis
  • Have taxes automatically calculated and removed (HUGE, right??)
  • Keep multiple galleries for each client (My clients adore this. I house galleries for years for them. It’s a second back up system for me, and convenient for them! Win-win!)
  • Add videos or create slideshows as special add-ons

These little details add up to huge time savings for me. And as someone juggling shoots, editing, marketing, and family life, I can’t put a price on that.

5. The Sales Results Speak for Themselves

Before using Pic-Time, my print sales were basically non-existent. And since I didn’t want to add in-person-sales to my calendar… I thought that was just how things were going to be. You might know the feeling, and if you do – trust me, I’ve BEEN there. But over the past few years, that number has grown to over $30,000 in product sales – without me adding a single in-person sales appointment to my schedule.

That growth happened because Pic-Time takes all the guesswork out of selling prints, and takes the admin out of your hands COMPLETELY. The galleries are beautiful, the store is intuitive, and the campaigns create urgency without feeling pushy or desperate or generally gross (this is something I hate doing – I’m not a pushy person, because again, that whole “pressure” thing isn’t my vibe. I’m loud as F*$k, and I’ll admit it. But one thing I’m NOT, is pushy!)

Pic-Time Changed My Business, and it can Change Yours Too

Pic-Time has allowed me to spend less time chasing sales and more time doing what I love – capturing beautiful moments for my clients. It’s a platform that feels like it was designed for real photographers with real time constraints, and it’s helped me serve my clients better while growing my business in ways I didn’t think were possible.

If you’re a photographer looking for a gallery platform that makes sales easy, client experiences beautiful, and your workflow lighter, I can’t recommend Pic-Time enough. If you’ve been on the fence let this be your push – let Pic-Time change your business, for the better!!
