Blogging is Still SEO Gold in 2025 (and beyond)

So I know we’re in a new, weird, wild, wild west when it comes to online content as business owners. Do websites even matter with every social media platform on the planet drawing people’s attention constantly? (Spoiler, yes, they do). How useful even IS creating longer form content, when everyone’s attention span is getting more and more squirrel-esque by the day? (Super important, just so you know). And how does AI play into the whole mess? (To be honest, some of that side of things remains to be seen at this point, but we’re all working with what we’ve got).

One thing we DO know, is no matter AI’s impact, and no matter social media drawing people’s attention left right and center, websites still matter, and so does your blog. Whether it’s a Google search, or a search on one of the various AI search tools available now, having content on your website to return in those searches is always going to be better than NOT having a presence. And making sure that content is strategic? Well that’s even better.

But Blogging is About More Than Text

Now you may be thinking, “Okay, easy, I’ll keep blogging because it still matters – what does that have to do with images?” and if you are thinking that… I get it. When you think “blogging” you probably don’t think about photos, you probably think about coming up with topic ideas, and spending ages trying to make a post exist around those topics.

But blogging is about more than just the things you write. They’re also about how you connect those posts to your website over all, how you direct to your primary pages, how you communicate with your people, and how you build authority. It’s a lot, but it’s a lot because it’s important. And one of the ways that we can help with ALL of those elements, is using branded images, that line up with your business’ communication standards.

Branded Imagery Brings Your Blog More Authority

At the end of the day, anything you put on your website that’s intended to communicate with your clients or customers, is a part of your brand. It’s got to be in line with what your ideal clients expect, what they need, and what’s going to help grow the know, like, and trust factor between you, and them. So I want you to imagine, if you were reading this post, and it was super clear I was using photos that I got off a stock image site. I mean, I’m a photographer, so if I was doing that, it would be super weird, right? Since that’s literally what I do… I should use my own imagery.

The same thing applies to you. Now obviously there are some niches and businesses where stock images can be curated in a branded way, and that’s totally fine. But in others… that’s just not going to work.

For example, if you’re a product seller? And your blog posts don’t have images of your own product, shown in a branded way? That’s going to be super weird, and definitely undermine your authority with the people who read your blog. People who you’re trying to convert into customers. Using branded imagery solves this problem! And that’s one of the things we can do for you in a Brand Photography package – make sure that you have the images you need to create authority in your online content. You know what you’re doing. So let’s make sure you LOOK like you do.

Creating Social Content Around Your Blog Posts Means Making Visuals

But if what you’re posting on your blog stops at your website… then you’re not doing your business justice, either! You’ve got to create connections between your social platforms, email marketing, and your website. It’s all a web, that’s gotta talk to the other parts and pieces, to effectively communicate to your people, and meet them where they are.

And what that means, is you’re going to need visuals (both images AND video, ideally) to post on social accounts to promote your blog posts! It doesn’t matter whether we’re talking about Instagram, TikTok, or Pinterest – branded, rich imagery that’s eye-catching and connected to the content you’ve put in the blog post you’re pointing to isn’t optional. It’s 100% necessary. It’s the difference between someone stopping in their scroll, and someone passing on by. And the more heads you turn, the more sales you make.

Connection is Visual

Whether your new potential client or customer is looking at your website, your social accounts, or the displays you have in your physical storefront… it’s important that they make connections when they’re looking at it. Not just the kind of connection we talk about when we think of people trusting your brand – but they need to literally connect that content to YOU. Your blog posts should LOOK like they belong to your brand.

But they should also create connection in the sense that this new potential customer/client should be able to connect more to your brand when they view your content. Which means things like being able to see themselves in the photos you use, using the product you sell, or benefiting from the services you offer. Seeing this clearly through imagery is just as powerful as reading about it – and I promise you, the images you use in your promotion on your blog are going to stick with potential clients far longer than the actual sentences you write in there!
