Managing Social Media for your Business is A LOT
There’s nothing I love more than a business task that actually makes things happen. And by things, I mean CONVERSIONS. Which is just a fancy way to say “it makes people give you money.” Now I know if you’re a small business owner, that’s likely NOT why you started a business – I mean, it’s not why I started mine. I’m a photographer because I love capturing connection, not because I want to be a millionaire.
But no matter what, I am ALL about anything that gives me back my time, so that I can be both a business owner, AND a mom. And I know YOU have things in your life that you want to spend more time on too – whether it’s family, friends – or even growing other areas of your business! I get that too, I’m always doing something new. You know what they say about idle hands… but I’d prefer for my hands to be busy with… well… not business things ALL the time.
And one of the hugest time-sucks in almost ANY business (but ESPECIALLY for small business owners) is social media. I mean let’s be honest here, it’s a LOT. There’s Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Linkedin, YouTube, TikTok (well… for a while at least, who knows what’s coming there) and then there are all of the smaller platforms, like Threads, Clubhouse, etc. And then there’s a whole suite of social media platforms that are industry specific, like Houzz for interior designers and woodworkers, for example. What I’m saying, is there are a LOT of places to be posting things, and there are only so many hours in the day.
Your Business Deserves Consistency
And no matter how many platforms we have to post on… ya gotta keep things consistent. Your business deserves it – consistency is what communicates to your people, brings them back, and makes your brand stand out in the crowd. It makes your content MEMORABLE. So if you’re posting in all the places, but you’re not able to do it consistently because you’re doing ALL THE THINGS pretty much all the time, you’re doing your business a disservice.
The same counts for that whole “let’s post on Instagram” sprint that happens every three weeks, that only actually involves making like three posts, and then accidentally ghosting the whole platform for a month until the inspiration hits again. That’s ALSO a lack in consistency, it’s not just about the content itself. Consistency is about timing, content, AND strategy, not just one of those things.
Social Media Management MOVES THE NEEDLE
Obviously, that’s a huge problem, especially if it’s happening on all of the platforms you post on, because Social Media content (especially Instagram!!) moves the needle for your business! It brings in new clients, keeps your audience engaged, shows them new services or products from you that they didn’t know they need yet… it’s a powerful engine for your business.
So that consistency HAS to happen. But I totally understand if it’s not happening now, for you, when you’re wearing five million hats every day when you get out of bed. Lucky for you though, there are ways to get that consistency WITHOUT worrying about spending all the time creating strategies, and the content to implement those strategies… and then making all the posts yourself.
Your Time is Valuable
And the best part, is this solution gets you your time back, too! If you haven’t already figured it out, the solution is social media management.
Whether you outsource one platform, like Instagram, or ALL platforms in a big ole sweep of content management, outsourcing that platform management to an expert (or multiple experts!) means you get that time back, but your platforms STILL perform for you. Without you having to worry about it, and without you having to take time every day to click “post”. Without you even having to take ONE day a month to click “schedule” either! It’s all handled for you, so you don’t have to think about it.
Bringing Clients in on Repeat is Instagram’s JOB
One of the other big wins of hiring out your social media content creation? New. Clients.
Yeah, that’s right. New people with their eyes on your stuff! Because unless you’re an expert in Instagram content, you’re unlikely to be leveraging the platform with 100% effectiveness, right? I mean, it’s not what you do for a living, you do what YOU do. What you started your business to do. Teaching yoga, or selling homes, or supporting other humans who do cool things – but definitely not to spend your days “engaging” on social media.
But without those kinds of tasks, social media won’t do for you what it SHOULD be doing.
Social Media Management Will ORGANIZE Your Business, Naturally
The benefits of social media management go beyond getting your time back, and bringing in new clients, too. Because when you’re working with an experienced team to create and post your social content, things get really organized really quick. You go from having a haphazard promotional strategy that’s based on “when you have the energy” to having a calendar of specifically designed content that goes up when you need it to. And if you go for full management, then not only does it go up when you need it to – you don’t even have to be involved in the process!
And, you’ll end up with an organized library of content that can go up on multiple platforms, if you’re not really ready to take the jump to having ALL of your socials managed externally. Like having a magical cheat sheet for the rest of your platforms, pre-made and ready to go!
